Scuda or Self-Contains Underwater Drinking Apparatus, enables to drink liquid during a dive. It was made to prevent dehydration. It could be pretty useful in case of hypoglycemia, filling the pouch with sugared water or a soft drink.
Here is an old description of the system.
Sentence that describes its function: “Refresh with a swallow or a rinse anytime during your dive. All you need to do to get a drink is give your Pouch a little squeeze –which sends a refreshing stream of beverage through the special mouthpiece bite tab.”
It looks that the company scuda marketing does not produce it anymore. Besides does the company still exist…
www.scuda.com does not work.
It’s uneasy to find information about this product, there are a few discussions about it on old forums mainly.
That’s a pity, the system looks useful. Have you ever used this product, do you have any idea how to buy it ?If you have any info about how to find this product, thanks for coming back to me.
Diving products : there are maybe other products that were designed to prevent dehydration and can be used by diabetics. Any tips?
Food products. Personnaly I use concentrated milk when I dive and I know a few other diabetics that use it too. I put it in my gear but I have never had to use it underwater, once after the dive reaching the surface.
hydration packs, water pouchs. Is there a product in particular you advise to use ? What do you fill it with ? water with sugar…
Combined product. It’s maybe possible to design a product oneself, combining a diving mouthpiece with a water pouch. Have you tried it?
